Day 1 was that big-ass travel day flying across Canada to visit Montreal and the World Road Cycling championships – both for my very first time – I know, right?
As promised, I am capturing the whole thing on video which is running on the Pez, Instagram channel and YouTube channel, but in case you’re not on either of those platforms, you’ll find my posts below for your viewing pleasure.
PEZ GOES TO THE WORLDS — Trip 1.1
And we’re off.
Alarm. Coffee. Taxi. Airport. Check-in.
Then perhaps the most Canadian start to a trip possible — a whole plane full of people politely lining up and patiently waiting their turn to board.
Next stop: Montréal and the 2026 UCI Road World Championships.
We lift off into a spectacular sunrise, heading east across Canada for my first-ever trip to Montréal — and, after more than 20 years covering pro cycling, my first World Championships.
The rainbow jerseys are waiting.
The PEZ Worlds Trip is officially underway!
A fine flight across the country to Montréal — smooth sailing, great views, and now boots on the ground for the 2026 UCI Road World Championships.
First order of business: get out and explore Montréal, track down a Negroni and soak up some of the city to see what kind of Worlds atmosphere is already building.
Today, the real PEZ Roadside adventure begins.
Montréal — let’s go!
