Scicon Aeroshade 2.0 Titanium Sunglasses These are the glasses the world champion and the best bike rider at the moment, Tadej Pogačar, wears when he wins a lots of races. Scicon can’t promise you a rainbow jersey, but you will look the part and clearly see where you are going.
The look of a champion?
Alastair Hamilton Pez sez: The Scicon Aeroshade 2.0 Titanium sunglasses that Tadej wears are white and red, to match his UAE Emirates XRG team colours, the pair they sent me had a black crystal front frame, I would have preferred the white frame, but I’m obviously not fast enough. When I first put the Aeroshades on, I found them uncomfortable and thought I would never like them, but this was my fault for not reading the instructions on adjusting the nose-piece (it’s a man thing). Once the adjustments had been made all was good and you do notice that the titanium legs hold your head comfortably and securely. They stay in place and that must be the strength of the titanium temple sections and the springiness of the ‘Grilamid TR90 mono-shield frame’.

Extra pink lens
Scicon say that they use medical-grade titanium for strength, flexibility and long-term resistance to deformation, corrosion and any extreme temperatures, which means the fit should stay the same over time. The nose-piece is Scicon’s ‘FlexiFit 2’ system which has multi-positions thanks to the flexible rubber nose pads and the two positions you can put the nose-piece on the lens to adjust their hight.

Reflective green lens with lots of ventilation
The ‘Grilamid TR90 mono-shield’ front part of the frame feels very strong and is flexible for a good and comfortable fit. Scicon claim it also gives long-term durability and will stay in place in any conditions: Strade Bianche and Roubaix perhaps? The tips of the legs can be adjusted with the ‘TactiGrip’ to suit your head shape, they also have grip ridges on the inside. The glasses also have the ‘VortexFlow’ ventilation system, which has gaps for airflow at the top and at the nose to cut-out any fogging of the lens.

Everything you need
The lens does make everything look much clearer and brighter and when looking around or behind you don’t see the edges of the lens. I have the Multimirror green lens, but they are also available in sunburst and silver, as well as black and photochromic, giving twenty-one different options. The pink/clear lens is easy to fit, a bit tight but then you don’t want them to fall out. The pink lens are great for dull weather conditions, they brighten everything up with perfect vision.

Easy to swap lens
What I like the most is the adjustability of everything: The leg tips and the nose-piece and rubber pads. The lens are so clear and makes everything look sharp. Comfortable, secure and should last a long time as they are well made and solid.

Flexible and tough
The Scicon Aeroshade 2.0 Titanium glasses fit well after the correct adjustments, they have a secure feeling while not squashing your head. The lens are perfect, fairly big, but not cumbersome and don’t touch your cheeks. They feel and look good… good enough for the GOAT.
Pink for those dull days
My only criticism of the Scicon Aeroshade 2.0 Titanium glasses would be the weight. They come in at 40 grams, which is 4 grams heavier than the first version of the Aeroshade. Many other glasses are nearer 30 grams, some frameless even going below this weight. I didn’t notice any discomfort on an hour or so ride, but maybe if you were out all day, that might be different. Although Pogačar didn’t seem to suffer riding over six and a half hours winning Milano-Sanremo in the spring.

Slightly heavier at 40grm
The Aeroshade 2.0 Titanium eyewear comes with a pink lens, soft bag and soft case. The leather feel case can also be used as a bike pouch under your saddle, using the velcro strap. As a glasses case it has an interior pocket for the spare lens and a lot of very soft padding. The soft bag also has a lens pocket and a draw string top.

Great bag you can also use on the bike
There are 21 different options of frame colours and lens, including photochromic, multimirror, and solid options. They are also compatible with the AC028 optical insert. Top Tip: If possible try any new glasses with your helmet, The Scicon glasses fit well with the MET helmet, I tried them with my Giro and Rudy Project helmets and they were also okay, but always best to try first, if you can.
