Mosaic AR-Zero
Best of both worlds
Mosaic Cycles is excited to announce its next chapter of the Mosaic Zero Ops program with the new AR-Zero. This comes one year after introducing the RT-Zero and the unveiling the Zero Ops Program – the internal research and development initiative dedicated to advancing handmade bike design.
While the RT-Zero explored what was possible for a modern titanium road bike, the new AR-Zero applies the same design philosophy to the growing all-road category. Built around clearance for up to 40mm tires while maintaining the responsiveness of a road platform, the AR-Zero features a carbon seatmast and Mosaic carbon topper, precision CNC components, and clean purposeful routing.
Key specs
The AR-Zero shares nearly identical specification with its forebear the RT-Zero, introduced in Gear Break last summer. However, as an all-road oriented bicycle, key specs have been adapted to this purpose. Specifically, Mosaic adopted the AR-1 geometry for comfort and endurance and they’ve ensured tire clearance up to 40mm.

CADEX MAX GXR WheelSystem
Go faster isn’t just for tarmac
If you caught our review of the CADEX MAX 40 road wheels back in December, you already know CADEX isn’t shy about pushing system integration to its absolute limit. On June 30, CADEX officially brought that same ultra-premium, no-compromise engineering over to the gravel scene with the release of the CADEX MAX GXR WheelSystem.
While I haven’t put a pair through the gravel gristmill just yet, the tech sheet reveals a set of hoops designed squarely around the ruthless demands of modern, high-speed gravel racing.
Road Tech Built for Gravel Abuse
The MAX GXR takes the signature core features of the MAX 40—specifically, bladed carbon spokes seamlessly bonded straight into the integrated carbon aero hub flanges—and reinforces the structure for dirty work. It continues to rely on CADEX’s Dynamic Balanced Lacing (DBL) to equalize spoke tension under hard pedaling efforts and impact loads, rolling on custom ultra-smooth CADEX ceramic bearings.
The rim profile steps up to a 50mm depth paired with a broad 25mm internal width and a 35mm external profile. This wide, hookless carbon channel is optimized for high-volume 700×40-57mm gravel rubber, allowing riders to run lower tire pressures for a larger contact patch and better compliance across rough terrain. To keep those deep carbon rims intact on harsh washboard and rocky sectors, CADEX incorporated Wide Guard technology—using reinforced 5mm sidewalls to absorb heavy rim strikes and prevent pinch flats without forcing you to run heavy tire inserts.

Additionally, CADEX claims the MAX GXR yields a 9.9% increase in rear-wheel transmission stiffness over the AR 35, ensuring every watt transfers immediately when punching up steep gravel climbs.

Go bigger, go faster
Released simultaneously on June 30 alongside the MAX GXR WheelSystem, CADEX introduced their all-new race-focused rubber: the CADEX GXR Tire. Designed specifically to complement modern wide-channel carbon wheels—and engineered to pair perfectly with the 25mm inner width of the MAX GXR—the GXR tire prioritizes straight-line rolling speed without sacrificing cornering bite.
Free Watts Through Casing & Tread Design
In gravel racing, wider tires are no longer viewed as a speed penalty, and CADEX’s lab numbers back that up. Featuring a streamlined center tread flanked by reshaped, predictable shoulder knobs, the GXR is built to hold speed on hardpack pavement transitions and bite into loose corners.
When comparing the new high-volume GXR 45mm against the older CADEX GX 40mm CADEX measured a 1.52W reduction in rolling resistance per tire. That equals a 3.03W savings per set, proving once again that running a larger volume tire at lower pressures can actually yield a faster, more efficient ride.

Garmin x TrainingPeaks
All in on endurance and strength coaching
Garmin announced on Wednesday it has acquired the TrainingPeaks and TrainHeroic training platforms for athletes and coaches. The acquisition strengthens Garmin’s fitness ecosystem with customizable coaching experiences for endurance, strength and performance-focused athletes across every stage of their fitness journey.

By pairing prescriptive training platforms with its dominant wearable footprint, Garmin bridges the gap between programmed workouts and real-time athlete readiness. Platforms like TrainerRoad and Xert adapt plans based primarily on power output, while Wahoo relies on third-party bridges (Apple Health, Whoop) to pull in recovery context. Garmin, however, enjoys native visibility across the user’s full health profile—syncing sleep, HRV, body composition, and daily stress directly from its watches and scales. This allows workouts to adjust dynamically based on true physiological recovery without relying on external apps or data translation. Ultimately, Garmin turns raw 24/7 metrics into an end-to-end, hardware-native training system that outflanks both device rivals and software-only suites.
It is notable that Peaksware sent a message to users yesterday “that TrainingPeaks will continue to operate as a cross-platform ecosystem.” Initially, it appears that nothing will change for users. There is a potential that Garmin will leave these platform wide open to third-party users. More likely, they will create certain features that are only available to Garmin device users, driving sales. Time will tell. Stay tuned, watch this space, we will update as we learn more.
