PEZ-Fans – when I put out the call last summer looking for help from the mighty PEZ readership, one of the first guys to raise his hand was Andy Rohrer. It’s been almost a year and Andy has tucked in nicely as part of the PEZ crew – editing our weekly Gear Break column and diving into product testing with the kind of enthusiasm that balances the right amount of bike geekery with practical evaluation.
But who exactly is the man behind the byline?
From the U.S. Army to the PEZ Crew
In this latest PEZ video chat, I met up with Andy for a casual “get to know you” conversation covering everything from his 26 years in the U.S. Army, to living and riding in Belgium, to his lifelong obsession with cycling that began with the 1984 Olympics and watching the Tour de France on TV.

Watch the full interview and let us know in the comments: How many bikes do YOU own?
Of course, we also talked about other important stuff like bikes.
Nine Bikes and a Titanium Dream Build
Andy currently owns nine bikes, including a special Mosaic titanium build, and admits to struggling with the idea of ever selling any of them. From gravel adventures in Michigan to long days exploring unfamiliar roads, he talks about why riding bikes remains such an essential part of life.
Giro d’Italia, La Vuelta and Grand Tour Debates
We also touch on the Giro d’Italia, why La Vuelta is actually his favorite Grand Tour (yes, he admits this publicly!), and what it’s like balancing PEZ duties with leading a cycling advocacy organization focused on rider safety and access.
So grab a coffee, settle in, and get to know one of the newest faces helping keep PEZ rolling.
