Tubeless setup is brilliant right up until the moment your sealant cures inside a tiny Presta valve core, turning your floor pump into a high-pressure workout machine. What Is Turboflow?
The Turboflow is a machined aluminum valve adapter that completely replaces your standard Presta valve core rather than replacing the entire tubeless stem. In the workshop
Tired of Presta valves clogging ups after a few months, when I was given the chance to test these, I figured, why not? Installation is a cinch. I used the provided aluminum tool to remove the Presta cores, then simply threaded the Turboflow adapters directly onto the external threads of the valve stems by hand. I attempted to weigh the old Presta cores and the new Turboflow valves, but my scale does not measure fractional grams. The attached photo is just here to prove that these are negligible–even for the Weight Weenies, which I am not.
To test pump compatibility, I grabbed my trusty, Specialized Air Tool floor pump. The pump head designed for native use with Presta and Shrader valves locked right onto the Turboflow valves with no fuss. Testing with a newer, high-volume floor pump yielded the exact same seamless engagement.
The real trial in my view is seating a tubeless tire without resorting to the air compressor. I again used my Specialized floor pump and inflated a tire. It snapped into the bead seats without any drama. Lacking a means to test air flow, I can’t prove an exact 300% increase. But pushing the pump handle felt effortless on the downstroke, seeming to confirm the air was moving faster.
On the road
Out on the road, I didn’t have to put them to the ultimate test of re-inflating a punctured tire after plugging it with my trusty Dynaplug (more on that brilliant system below). Still, I was rolling with zero stress. I knew that if things went pear-shaped, my Topeak e-Booster Digital Mini pump (also detailed below) would hook right up to the Turboflow valves without missing a beat, getting me back to my exact preferred pressure. I should add, I am so impressed with these that I am converting all of my tubeless rims over. They are just that easy to use.

Bacon is for breakfast!
There are two types of tubeless riders: those who still fiddle with sticky “bacon” strips, and those who carry a Dynaplug. When a sharp flint, piece of glass, or nasty goat head thorn inflicts a puncture that your sealant just can’t seal on its own, the clock is ticking. The Dynaplug Racer Pro is engineered for that exact high-stress scenario, stripping away the fumbling with a beautifully machined, ultra-fast solution designed to rescue your casing before the pack rides away.
Maximizing pocket capacity
The big story with the Racer Pro is the integration of “Twin Tube” technology. While the classic Racer tool gave you two total plugs, the Pro model doubles that capacity without adding noticeable bulk. It features two double-ended insertion tubes, allowing you to house four pre-loaded plugs (3 standard plugs, and 1 Megaplug) under smooth, protective o-ring secured and sealed caps. The plugs are made from a viscoelastic rubber compound molded to non-abrasive brass (standard plug) or aluminum (Megaplug) tips that allow for easily inserting the plug into the puncture. The construction and shape of the tips will not damage your rim tape if you make contact with it.

On road and trail
At 25 grams (as tested), the Racer Pro completely disappears into a jersey pocket or cargo bib. It is tiny…but huge when you need it! Deploying it under pressure is where the premium design pays off. After a catastrophic tire puncture halfway into a century ride between Belgium and the Netherlands a few years ago, and being unable to get a bacon strip to hold, I took the plunge on Dynaplug. I have never regretted it, the few times I’ve needed to use it, it has not failed me.
The entire repair process takes mere seconds, basically limited only by how fast you can fish the tool out of your pocket, deploy a plug, and top off your air pressure if required. Once inside, the brass tip anchors inside the casing, leaving the sticky compound behind to seal the leak instantly. Best of all? The repair is permanent. There is no need to swap the tire or pull the plug when you get home; it stays there for the life of the casing. The process is easier and faster than messing around with “bacon”…leave that on your breakfast plate!
While these are ideal for tread punctures, they can absolutely rescue you from minor sidewall slices too. Sometimes, you may need to stack two plugs into the same hole to fully choke off the air loss. To be fair, it is not a total magic wand. For large, gaping gashes and structural tears, a plug won’t save you. You are still going to need a proper tire boot and a spare tube—a lightweight TPU tube is my personal preference—to get home. But for standard gravel debris, having this pre-loaded on the bike offers immense peace of mind.

One vital note if you run ultra-lightweight TPU inner tubes: if yours utilize plastic/resin valve stems, the heat generated by the pump during rapid inflation can actually melt the stem. The Topeak supplied extender hose saves this by isolating the pump generated heat. Or, you can simply use TPU tubes with aluminum valve stems to entirely eliminate this issue.
In the workshop
I’ve been putting the e-Booster through its paces, and it has quickly earned a permanent spot in my gravel setup. Let’s be clear upfront: this tiny powerhouse is not a replacement your floor pump in the workshop. Where it absolutely shines is getting your pressure set exactly right before rolling out, providing a quick top-up, or inflating after a flat on course.
It can certainly inflate a high-volume tire from completely flat if you need it to, but the time required comes down to two major factors: tire volume and desired pressure. The skinny road tires, 30mm and 32mm, inflated to 60-65 psi in 80-85 seconds. The bigger gravel casings, measuring 45mm, but only up to 33psi inflated in about 50 seconds. The pump is truly ideal for a quick top up, and getting the pressure dialed in precisely.
Andy sez: “I was skeptical it would meet the claimed precision of ± 2 psi. I used a standalone gauge I trusted, and it was dead on accurate. On narrower road tires mounted to 21-23mm width rims, a few psi won’t be a big deal. But, on large volume gravel tires on 25mm+ internal width rims, a few psi are the difference between a tire that feels like a warm hot dog and a rock. You really gotta get the pressures right, and the Topeak e-Booster Digital Mini does that.”
No more guessing
The real magic of this tool is the complete lack of guesswork. When you are on course or sitting by your car at the trailhead—especially right after deploying a plug to fix a puncture—you can dial in your preferred pressure, hook it up, and let the motor do the work. You get rolling again knowing your tire pressure is precise, not merely “close enough.”
